Sagicor Group Jamaica is looking for the ideal candidate to join our Group Project Management department in the capacity of:


Project Manager


The successful candidate will be responsible for the project management of assigned multi-functional and technical projects embarked upon based on the Company’s strategic objectives.



Core Functions and Responsibilities:


  • Actively participate in the assessment, implementation, management and successful completion of multi-functional projects to enhance profitability and further the company’s strategies, vision and objectives
  • Develop Project Plans and Charters, make recommendations to enable estimation of project scope, quality, time, cost and risk considerations
  • Manage the technology, people and change for assigned projects on a day-to-day basis in order to achieve goals, while working closely with functional departments to coordinate plans and activities to facilitate timely and orderly integration of the project and it deliverables within the organization
  • Ensure requirements and deliverables are well-defined, clearly communicated and documented
  • Provide written reports on status of project
  • Ensure adherence to Sagicor Testing methodology, where projects require testing
  • Recommend implementation strategies and develops plans for seamless implementation in the production environment
  • Provide consultation and team support on assigned projects
  • Actively participate in the building of new initiatives, including preparing documents such as budgets, cost benefit analyses and scope definition to support recommendations for new initiatives and identifying alternative systems and approaches
  • Work with leadership team and sponsors to realize desired benefits by providing ongoing support, communication and assistance in the assessment and tracking of project products to ensure desired outcomes and benefits are achieved



Qualifications / Specialized Skills / Competencies


  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Management Studies, Management Information Systems or related field
  • Project Management Professional Certification
  • Minimum of thirty-two (32) hours of formal training in the field of Project Management
  • Minimum of three (3) years of management experience
  • Knowledge of Banking and Financial products and business environment
  • Knowledgeable of emerging market technologies
  • Experience on the use of Project Management Tools and illustrative software
  • Results oriented, sound time management and organizational skills
  • Good leadership skills
  • Good presentation, communication, and advisory skills
