KPMG in Jamaica is seeking talented, high performing recent University Computer Science graduates with GPA of 3.3 and above, with a keen interest in joining our IT Advisory practice in the capacity of Junior IT Auditors.

Job Profile

The incumbent participates in audits by planning, supervising, and performing review and testing on all layers of computer systems (application, database, operating system, data, infrastructure, etc.) in the course of financial statement audits as well as special audits of client systems, to confirm effectiveness of information technology (IT) and managerial controls over confidentiality, integrity and availability of information

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assists in planning and performing tests as part of external audit teams, including ascertaining; 1) the reliability of the IT general controls environment(s) including physical access, logical access, change management, IT operations and end-user computing controls; and 2) selected IT financial applications controls to verify the completeness and/or accuracy of data.
  • Assists in planning and performing tests as part of special audit engagements of data processing functions involving reviewing and evaluating the adequacy and efficiency of business process controls, IT security controls, IT operations controls and data integrity controls.
  • Assists in performing agreed-upon procedures designed to determine whether client application systems are in compliance with relevant IT policies and/or external regulations.
  • Prepares and delivers the results of the audit in a written report along with supporting work papers in satisfaction of approved audit programs.
  • Participates in the conduct of multi-disciplinary, non-audit projects with other service areas.

Qualifications and Skills

  • F irst degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems Audit , Mathematics, Electronic Engineering or related field of expertise form a recognised institution.
  • Experience in an international financial auditing firm (is an asset)
  • Experience in implementing or testing accounting information systems (is an asset)
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Team-oriented
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Good report writing skills
  • Client-service oriented.
